Rowena J. Douthit 75 of Boyd, passed away at 4:44 a.m. on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Stonebridge Senior Living Center in Benton.  She was born on September 7, 1940 in Mt. Carmel, the daughter of Russell and Jean Warehine Douthit.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Left to mourn her passing is a brother; Marty Douthit of Dix.  3 sisters; Jeanette Johnson of Nashville, TN, Elaine Clinton of Kell and Tracey Jones of McLeansboro.  And several nieces and nephews.

Rowena formerly worked as a unit secretary at Crossroads Community Hospital in Mt. Vernon and was of the Pentecostal faith.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 2nd at Boyd Christian Church in Boyd with Rev. Howard Krapps officiating. Styninger Funeral and Cremation Chapel in Hoyleton is in charge of arrangements
