Cornelia P. “Connie” Huge 81 of Hoyleton, passed away at 7:24p.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon. She was born on December 22, 1935 in Okawville, the daughter of Arthur and Pearl Hoffman Weihe. She married Alfred Huge on October 17, 1954 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoyleton and he passed away on January 15, 1997. Also preceding her in death were her parents, A daughter Debra Lynn and 3 brothers; Erwin, Harold and Robert in infancy. Left to mourn her passing are 2 sister in laws; Helen Weihe of Nashville and Betty Weihe of Hoyleton along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Connie was a grocery store clerk for 46 years in Okawville and Hoyleton. She was a faithful member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoyleton where she was active in the Ladies Aid, Women’s Missionary League and the choir. She was a member of American Legion Auxillary and Hoyleton Community Club.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 31, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoyleton with Rev. Nathan Wollenberg officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the church and one hour prior to services on Friday. Memorial contributions are suggested and may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or the Ladies Aid of Trinity. Styninger Funeral & Cremation Chapel in Hoyleton is in charge of arrangements.
