Zachary Ryan Brinkmann, 15 of New Minden, passed away at 2:17 a.m. on Friday, August 13, 2021 at his residence with his loving family at his side. He was born on June 15, 2006 in Breese, the son of Ryan and Rebecca Windler Brinkmann. Left to mourn his passing are his parents, a brother Chad Brinkmann, 3 sisters; Sydney, Summer and Samantha Brinkmann. Paternal grandparents; Larry and Peggy Brinkmann of New Minden and maternal grandparents; Dennis and Trudy Windler of New Minden. Several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Zachary Ryan Brinkmann was confirmed in the Lutheran faith on August 2, 2020 through St. John Lutheran Church. His faith was not only his foundation, but also at the very core of who he was and how he lived his life each day. Exodus 14:14, “The Lord will fight for you, you need only be still.” He knew God’s perfect love. He knew how to simply be in Christ. He knew God was in control. His “God’s got this,” mentality allowed him to live his life with intention, with courage, and without fear.
Regardless of the many obstacles placed before him, Zach always said, “The meaning of life is to live it.” Zach was a dedicated athlete and a beloved teammate to the T-SJ/ILS Titans basketball, T-SJ Warriors track, and Raiders and Nashville Sting baseball.
He loved being with his family and friends, especially when there was an opportunity for four wheeler and side by side rides, fishing, or a pickup game of wiffle ball. His laugh was contagious, his sarcasm was perfectly timed, and you always knew where you stood with him.
He was loyal and dependable, and would much rather take care of others before anyone took care of him.
We are forever changed for the better, and inspired to live life by the example he led.
