Warren Dueker Obituary

Warren Arthur Dueker of Nashville formerly of New Minden, passed away at 3:25 a.m. on Monday, May 6, 2019 at Washington County Hospital in Nashville.  He had attained the age of 96 years and 1 month.  He was born on April 6, 1923 in Huegley, the son of Arthur and Louise Garnholz Dueker.  He was baptized at the home of his parents on May 20, 1923 by Rev. H.W. Brandt and confirmed at Immanuel Methodist Episcopal Church of North Prairie on June 7, 1936 by Rev. Samuel Albrecht.  He married Arlene Winte Hagebusch on February 3, 1973 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Okawville and she passed away on August 10, 2015.  Also preceding him in death were his parents, his sister Mary Louise Haege and nephew Aaron Haege.  Left to mourn his passing area a daughter; Carol (Dale) Brockmann of Okawville.  3 grandchildren; Lori (John) Caloia of Oakland Township, MI, Stacy (Mark) Friedrich of Okawville and Brian (Tosha) Jasper of Okawville.  3 great grandchildren; Caleigh Friedrich of Okawville, Caitlin (Will) Jelks of Paris, TN and Kyle Jasper of Okawville.  A brother; Bert Dueker of Nashville along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

Warren graduated from Elm Point Grade School Dist.# 31 on April 30, 1938.  He graduated from Nashville High School in 1942.  While in high school, Warren belonged to the FFA and showed sheep with the 4-H.   He lettered in track for 3 years while running the 880 relay, 100 yard dash and doing the broad jump.  Warren and his teammates set a school record for the relay which held for many years before being broken recently.  He was a member of the Merchant Marines from 1944-1946.  His tour of duty covered South America and parts of Europe.  He was a farmer most of his life and had a dairy farm operation for which he received numerous awards from Prairie Farms Dairy.  Warren was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Nashville, the North Prairie Cemetery committee, Washington Lodge #55 AF&AM, Washington County Farm Bureau and had been a Director of the Old Exchange National Bank in Okawville until his retirement.  He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed attending and listening to the Nashville Hornets, Hornettes, St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Cubs ball games.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Grace United Methodist Church in Nashville with Rev. William Bunnage officiating.  Burial will follow in the North Prairie Cemetery near Hoyleton with military rites accorded by the Nashville American Legion Post #110.  Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and 7:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. on Thursday at the Styninger Funeral Home in Nashville and one hour prior to services on Thursday at the church.  Memorial contributions may be made to Washington County Hospital Extended Care, Parkinson Foundation or a charity of the donors choice.
