Vicky Ann Wuehler 65 of Centralia, formerly of Nashville passed away at 10:05 a.m. on Thursday, January 02, 2014 at her residence. She was born on August 21, 1948 in Vandalia, the daughter of Donald and Ina Marie Swinford Hildibrand. She married Dennis Wuehler on December 17, 1967 in Farina and he survives in Centralia. Also surviving are 2 daughters; Kristy (Jason) Tanner of Tuscon, AZ. And Kim (Danny) Osborn of Vandalia. 5 grandchildren; Bailey, Jack and Kellen Tanner and Lily and Payne Osborn. 2 sisters; Donna Smith of Vandalia and Jan (Dale) Greene of Mt. Vernon. A brother in law; Randy (Sherry) Wuehler of St. Amant, LA. And a sister in law; Barb (Sherman) Hunt of St. Peter. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Vicky received her Master’s Degree in Education from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. She taught Business at Nashville Community High School for 30 years and then was a part time instructor at Kaskaskia College and Southwestern Illinois College. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Centralia where she was active in the Friendship Guild. She was a member of the Washington County Retired Teachers Association, Centralia Ladies of the Elks, and the Road Warriors running group. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren and visiting her winter home in Tuscon.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 8th at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Nashville with Rev. Perry Schefelker officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in St. Paul on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Styninger Funeral Home in Nashville and one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Hope House in St. Louis or the Siteman Cancer Center.
