Shirley Kay Ibendahl

Shirley Ibendahl, 75 formerly of Rice, passed away at 3:19 p.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 in De Soto with her family by her side. She was born on February 20, 1945 in Oakdale, the daughter of Walter and Gladys Ibendahl.  She was preceded in death by her parents, a son David Baranowski, 2 brothers; Charles and Lyle Ibendahl.  Left to mourn her passing is a son Jason (Julie) Baranowski of Perryville, MO.  4 daughters; Shairl (Albert) Hagene of Sparta, Josephine (Roy) Miller of Tilden, Laura (Fred) Obertini of Pinckneyville and Jana (Chris) Morrison of West Frankfort.  3 sisters; Janet DeMeo of Rice, Esther Hancock of Poplar Bluff, MO and Laverna Mae Joslin of Rice. 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Shirley was a member of Concord Baptist Church in Rice and was baptized at Lake Salateeska.  She loved to go to thrift stores and flea markets searching for a bargain.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Concord Baptist Cemetery in Rice with Rev. Gary Pate officiating.  Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the  Styninger Funeral Home in Nashville. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
