Stevie was born on May 11, 1937 in Litchfield, Illinois to Charles Homer and Pauline Pass Stephenson.

Surviving are his wife of 38 years Evia Stephenson, daughter Kristine Schnitker and husband Bradley.  3 Grandsons Bradley Jr. (Britlyn) Schnitker, Brandon Schnitker, Brayden Schnitker and special friend Kinze Fox, one great grandson Bradley (Tripp) Schnitker III all of Hoyleton, Illinois, sister Helen Schuetze of Carlinville, Illinois and sister in laws Sharon Stephenson of Clinton, Illinois and Debbie Schmidt of Inverness, Florida, sister and brother in laws, Duane and Gerri Arter of Arizona, Pat Alderson of North Carolina, David and Sue Acaley of Stevens Point, Wisconsin, Ann Acaley of Irving Texas, Paul and Colleen Acaley of Rockford, Illinois, Kathleen Scranton of Jacksonville, Florida and Linda Fringer of Wisconsin and several nieces and nephews.

Stevie was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Charles, John, Bill, Larry and George, sister Theresa Murphy, sisters and brothers in law Donna Stephenson, George Schuetze, Roy Murphy, Carl and Darline Spears, Tom and Alice Bowen, John Acaley, Stephen Scranton and several nephews.

Stevie graduated from Litchfield High School in 1955 and went on to serve in the Army National Guard for 6 years.  He was employed by Milnot Creamery in Litchfield and 15 years at Coffeen Mine, Coffeen, Illinois and finished his career with 25 years of service with the City of Litchfield.

Stevie and Evia Arter Morgan were married on November 22, 1986, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

Stevie enjoyed his 3 grandsons and their activities in retirement.  He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals Baseball and Illini Basketball fan, attending as many games as possible in St. Louis, Missouri and Champaign, Illinois.

Stevie was a current member of Local 773 and UMWA 1393.  He was a past member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 1634.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 6, 2025 at the First Christian Church in Centralia with Rev. Paula Comper officiating.  Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service.  Cremation will follow the service. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church, St. Jude Children’s Hospital or SSM Hospice. Styninger Funeral & Cremation Chapel in Hoyleton is in charge of arrangements.
