Nicholas Ian Karmeier, 29 of New Minden, passed away at 2:37 a.m. on Friday, April 12, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born on June 13, 1989 in Belleville the son of Ralph and Julie Brammeier Karmeier. Nicholas is survived by his parents of New Minden, sister and brother in law; Andrea and Jeff Hoffman of New Minden, nephew Caden Hoffman and 2 nieces; Carlin and Gracen Hoffman along with several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Arthur and Loren Karmeier and Emil and Quinta Brammeier.
Nicholas was a 2007 graduate of Nashville Community High School. He loved the staff and working at the Washington County Vocational Workshop. He helped with the brail program at St. John’s Lutheran Church where he was a member. He enjoyed helping his mom and dad with garden and yard work. Nicholas was happiest when he was busy. He was an avid NASCAR fan watching every race and enjoyed touring numerous race tracks.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in New Minden with Rev. Timothy Mueller officiating. Friends may call from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Wednesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church, the Washington County Vocational Workshop or a charity of the donor’s choice. Styninger Funeral Homes of Nashville and Hoyleton is in charge of arrangements.
