NAOMI SZYLOWSKI OBITUARY
Naomi L. Prueshner Szylowski, 100 of Freeburg, formerly of Okawville, passed away at 5:54 a.m. on Monday, November 20, 2023 at her residence. She was born on June 29, 1923 in Nashville Township, the daughter of Henry and Flora Wreath Lange. She was babtized at home on July 6, 1923 and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Nashville on April 5, 1936. She married Eldor Prueshner on August 26, 1941 and he passed away on July 26, 1984. She then married Stanley Szylowski on January 9, 1988 and he passed away on June 7, 2013. Also preceding her in death was a son Kenneth, 2 brothers; Herb (Vera) Lange, Sr. and Wilbert (Esther) Lange and a sister in law; Viola (Herbert) Lichtenfels
Left to mourn her passing is her son Dennis (Sheila) Prueshner of Okawville, 2 granddaughters; Kari (Neal) Surratt of Adamsville, TN and Beth (Kelly) Clark of O’Fallon. 4 great granddaughters; Kylie and Dakota Clark, Kolby and Kenli McCasland.
Naomi was a devoted farm wife and later drove a school bus for Okawville High school. Following Eldor’s death, she took his place as the Okawville Township Supervisor. She was a member of Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church in Freeburg and the home extension. She loved to bowl and help out farming.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Okawville with Rev. Bruce Keseman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 8:30 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery or Christ Our Savior Luttheran Church. Styninger Funeral Home in Nashville is in charge of arrangements.
