Minette Cramer Obituary

Minette Elizabeth Cramer 94 of Hoyleton, passed away at 4:02 a.m. on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at Centralia Manor.  She was born on June 12, 1930 in Hoyleton, the only child of Paul and Agnes Breuer Cohlmeyer.  She was baptized and confirmed in the Zion Evangelical Church in Hoyleton and later married Leroy Cramer there on May 3, 1953 and after 54 years of marriage, he passed away on September 24, 2008.

Minette graduated from Centralia Township High School and attended Centralia Junior College.  She had a passion for music as she wrote and presented 3 pre holiday programs.  She was a lifelong member of the Zion United Church of Christ in Hoyleton where she served as pianist and was a regular vocalist.  She was still playing the piano once a month at age 93.  She was a former member of the Washington County Home Extension and was a volunteer at St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia where she served as a Pink Lady and one of her favorite things was to volunteer in the Cancer Department.  She loved the patients and was given love in return by them.

Minette loved people and never met a stranger.  She lived a happy life, always having something to share with others and always having a smile on her face.  She is survived by many close friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at Zion United Church of Christ in Hoyleton with Rev.’s Stacy Tate and Sharon Patton officiating.  Private burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday at the church.  Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
