Milton Dean “Bud” Stokes, 90 of Nashville, passed away at 12:52 p.m. on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at his residence. He was born on May 17, 1933 in Fairmont City, the son of Luke Monroe and Naomi Valeree Parker Stokes. He married Dolores T. Branam on January 28, 1950 in East St. Louis and she passed away on February 14, 2022. Also preceding him in death were his parents, 5 brothers; Art. Ralph, Chuck, Harold and Clyde Stokes. A sister Dorothy Maxwell.
Left to mourn his passing is a son Milton D. (Jill) Stokes, Jr. of Murphysboro. 2 daughters; Dianna L. Reed of Belleville and Charlena (Luke) Battles of Bethalto. 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Bud retired from the City of East St. Louis where he was a member of the Operator of Engineers Local #520.
A private graveside service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Nashville. Styninger Funeral Home in Nashville is in charge of arrangements
