Mrs. Mary Ann Borowiak of Nashville, IL departed this life at Washington County Hospital Extended Care in Nashville on Friday, August 9, 2024. She had attained the age of 88 years.
Mrs. Borowiak was born on March 25, 1936 the daughter of Andrew and Irene (Schultz) Gajewski. She was united in marriage to Lee Roy Borowiak on September 26, 1955 at St. Michael the Archangel Church in Radom, IL.
Mary Ann owned Lee’s Variety and Lee’s Sports in Nashville, IL along with her husband Lee Roy. She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Nashville, the Washington County Hospital Auxiliary, St. Ann Church Catholic Daughters, and the Washington County Red Hat Society. Mary Ann loved to sew and quilt, and created the well-known quilting and fabric department at Lee’s Variety.
Left to mourn her passing are her three children, Sara Habbe and husband Randy of Nashville, their children, Jonathan Habbe (Ava and Gianna Habbe) and Megan Rosa and husband Nick (Penelope, Gabriella and Evelyn Rosa); Michael Borowiak and wife Sherrie of Nashville, their children Zachary Borowiak and wife Elaine, Allie Ravanesi and husband Scott (Mia, Emma, Rosie and Leo Ravanesi), Annie Adams and husband Chris (Ella, Luke and Nora Adams) and Mollie Kline and husband Jake (Clark Kline); and Matthew Borowiak and wife Terri of St. Louis and their children Andrew and Flora Borowiak; other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister Audrey Suchomski, and brothers Rob, Jim and Kenny Gajewski.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Nashville with Fr. Andy Knopik and Fr. Benny George officiating. Burial will follow in the Old St. Ann Catholic Cemetery in Nashville. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday and 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at Styninger Funeral Home in Nashville. Should friends desire, mass offerings or memorials can be made to St. Ann Catholic Church or Washington County Hospital Extended Care in Nashville
