Mary Elizabeth Snyder, 93 of Nashville, passed away at 12:26 a.m. on Friday, December 25, 2020 at Friendship Manor Health Center in Nashville. Mary was the only living member of her immediate family. She was born on June 12, 1927 in Cairo. Mary was one of three children of W. Lee and Louise Terese Brown Harrison. Mary grew up in Cairo and graduated from Cairo High School. She married Elmer Walter Snyder of Nashville and she moved to Nashville following World War II. Mary and Elmer were devoted to Elmer’s parents, Walter and Lily Snyder. Upon Elmer receiving a promotion with the US Postal Service, to the Federal Post Office in East St. Louis, he and Mary moved to Belleville where they lived for many years. Two years ago, Mary returned to Nashville and resided at Friendship Manor.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband Elmer who passed away suddenly in 1994, her in laws; Walter and Lily Snyder, her parents Lee and Louise Harrison, her younger siblings William Leo Harrison and Martha Ann Harrison (Bob) Hite. She is survived by Martha’s daughter Yevonne (Keith) Menz, as well as her brother’s wife Janet and their daughters; Emily (Jason) Lutkus, Kelly (Mark) Petrucci, Tracy (Animesh) Pardanani and great niece Maya Elizbeth Pardanani.
All services will be private with interment at Greenwood Cemetery in Nashville. Memorial contributions may be made to Greenwood Cemetery or the Belleville Humane Society. Styninger Funeral Home in Nashville is in charge of arrangements
