Edna “Marie” Finke, 93, a resident of Blue Springs, MO passed away peacefully Friday, August 15, 2025, at her home. She was born September 6, 1931, to Raymond and Margaret (Zapp) Pitchford in Richview, IL.
Marie was a 1949 graduate of Nashville High School in Nashville, IL. She continued her education by attending a two-year business college. On May 23, 1953, Marie was united in marriage to Oliver Finke in Nashville, IL. From this union two children were born Kent and Pam. Marie was Methodist by faith. On September 4, 1997, Marie was united in marriage to Walter Finke Jr. She enjoyed playing Bridge and spending time with her beloved family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Marie is survived by her children, Kent Finke and his wife Pam of Evansville, IN, Pam Shrum of Blue Springs, MO; grandchildren, Chris Shrum and his wife Sarah, Matt Shrum and his wife Kathleen, Nick Finke and his wife Elizabeth; step-grandson, Chris Newman and his wife Shauna; 6 great-grandchildren; 3 step-great-grandchildren. Marie is preceded in death by her husband; second husband; parents; siblings, Lester Pitchford, Viola Reed, Marjorie Murphy, Wesley Pitchford; son-in-law, Jim Shrum.
Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, November 7, 2025 at Masonic Cemetery in Nashville. Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery. Styninger Funeral Home in Nashville is in charge of local arrangements.
