Maria del carmen "Carmen" (Ehret) Holtgrewe

Maria del carmen Holtgrewe, 56 of Ashley, passed away at 2:10 p.m. on Friday, October 21, 2022 at her residence after a long illness with her family at her side.  She was born on December 20, 1965 in Rota, Spain, the daughter of Edward J. and Anna Maria Moreno Mellado Ehret, Sr.  She married Michael Holtgrewe on June 20, 1987 in Okawville.  Besides her husband of 35 years, also left to mourn her passing is her mother of Oakdale.  2 sons; Brandon (Jessica Hart) Holtgrewe of Beaucoup and Edwin “Hank” (Cheyenne) Holtgrewe of Mt. Vernon.  5 grandchildren; Scarlette, Remington, Eliana, Greyson and Jameson Holtgrewe. 4 brothers; Milton Juan Ehret of Oakdale, Edward (Jill) Ehret, Jr. of Nashville, Robert ‘Ube” (Doris) Ehret of Oakdale and BJ Ehret of Oakdale.  2 sisters; Sandra Dee (Roy) Koth of Chester and Barbara Ann Ehret of Addieville. She was preceded in death by her father, a son Cody Holtgrewe and her in laws; Edward and Ruth Holtgrewe.

Mrs. Holtgrewe was a CNA and DSP for Comprehensive Connections in Mt. Vernon.  She loved crafting, reading, fishing, gardening and especially spending time with her grandchildren which were her pride and joy.  She will be remembered as an amazing, beautiful and strong wife, mother, granny and best friend.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Styninger Funeral Home in Nashville is in charge of arrangements
