Louis Michael “Louie” Schmersahl, 56 of Ava formerly of Lively Grove, passed away at 4:10 p.m. on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at his residence from injuries received in a logging accident. He was born on March 28, 1961 in Red Bud, the son of Lawrence and Margaret Harmon Schmersahl. He married Sandra Irvin on June 23, 1994 in Nashville and she survives. Also surviving is his step son; Michael Recard of Sparta, 2 step grandsons; David and Kyle, 6 brothers and sisters and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Frank.
Louie was an auto mechanic and saw mill operator. He loved to work on cars, especially his “muscle” car. He also enjoyed being outdoors and working with and cutting wood.
Cremation was performed and there will be no services at this time. Styninger Funeral Home in Nashville is in charge of arrangements.
