Lorraine Wilhelmina Haake, 85 of Hoyleton, passed away at 1:04 p.m. on Sunday, December 26, 2021 at SSM St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia with her family by her side. She was born on February 3, 1936 in Hoyleton the daughter of Henry and Selma Lueking Maschhoff. She was baptized on February 16, 1936 and confirmed on April 2, 1950 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoyleton and was united in marriage on September 21, 1957 to Marvin L. Haake at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoyleton by Rev. P.F. Harre. Besides her husband of 64 years, left to mourn her passing are 2 daughters; Karen (Gregory) Guenther of Valley Park, MO and JoEllyn (David) McMillan of Omaha, NE. A daughter in law Linda Haake of Hoyleton. 2 brothers; Lloyd (Lucille) Maschhoff of Swansea and Leroy (Deborah) Maschhoff of Mission Viejo, CA. 7 grandchildren; Andrea (Michael Murphy) Calland, Ryan (Emily) Haake, Allison Haake and fiancé Jeremy Albers, Sabrina (Vince Frigo) Guenther Frigo, Eric (Melissa Marrero) Guenther, Sean (Rachel Jussel) McMillan and Kyle McMillan. 5 great grandchildren; Elyana, Savana and A.J. Calland, Miles McMillan and Valen Frigo. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Neil Haake, a granddaughter Alyssa Guenther and a brother Robert Maschhoff.
Lorraine was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoyleton where she was active in the LWML. She was a member of the Washington County Home Extension. Besides being a devoted farm wife, she was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed quilting, embroidery, baking and gardening.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 31, 2021 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoyleton with Rev. Nathan Wollenberg officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoyleton and one hour prior to services on Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoyleton, Christ Our Rock Lutheran High School or a charity of the donor's choice. Styninger Funeral & Cremation Chapel in Hoyleton is in charge of arrangements.
