Lorie Jean (Zeilinger) Williams

Lorie J. Williams, age 69 of Mt. Vernon, IL passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at 1:55 P.M.

Lorie was born on December 12, 1953 in Janesville, WI, the daughter of June and Fredrick Zeilinger.  She was united in marriage to George Williams on March 29, 1980 in Janesville, WI.

In addition to her husband of 42 years, left to mourn her passing are her two children, Kimberly (Mark) Rennegarbe of Addieville, IL and William (Danyelle) Livingston of Florissant, MO; three grandchildren Addysen, Jackson and Alexa Rennegarbe, three siblings Dave (Lynn) Zeilinger of Beloit, WI, Kathy (Jim) Gunderson of Janesville, WI and Tim Zeilinger of Eagen, MN, along with many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. 

Lorie devoted herself to several jobs over the years, after she raised her children she went back to school and earned an associates degree in computer programming.  Lorie loved to laugh and was silly with her three grandchildren, who she loved dearly. Lorie enjoyed gardening and home renovation projects and was known for her boundless energy and fierce determination.

It is Lorie’s wishes to be shot into space upon her death, since that is not a current option Lorie is to be cremated and a celebration of Lorie’s life is planned for Friday, January 13, 2023 from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the American Legion Hall at 14879 Dorr Road in South Beloit, Illinois.  Prior to cremation a visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Styninger Funeral home in Nashville, IL. 

The family would like to sincerely thank the staff at SSM Hospice Good Samaritan of Mt. Vernon for all their kindness and support helping Lorie transition to her eternal life.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to SSM Hospice Good Samaritan of Mt. Vernon or The American Cancer Society.
