Lee Richard Jett, 84 of Nashville, passed away at 7:25 a.m. on Sunday, September 1, 2024 at the VA Medical Center in Marion. He was born on October 6, 1939 in Sand Point, ID, the son of George Earl and Dorothy Spainbower Jett, Sr.
He married Salina Bielong Carpenter on April 20, 2007 in Nashville and she survives his passing. Also surviving are 2 step daughters; Amie Horsley of Payson, AZ and Caitlin Carpenter of Milwaukee, WI. Step grandchildren; Sara and Lucy. Brother George Earl Jett, Jr of Mountain Grove, MO. Nephews; David Jett, Gary Huff and George Earl Jett, III. Nieces Kathy Cooper, Velva Louis, Missy and Audrey. He was preceded in death by his parents a brother Jess Jett and sister Doris Dixon.
Lee retired from the United States Air Force where he served in Vietnam, Okinawa Japan and Turkey. He was a member and past commander of the Nashville VFW Post #4082 and Nashville American Legion Post #110. He was the owner and operator of Quick Pick convenience store and Reel Tyme Video in Nashville for many years. In Lee’s own words, “I was born when the hills were still mountains”.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at Styninger Funeral Home in Nashville with Pastor David Jett and Amie Horsley officiating. There will be a military flag presentation at the beginning of the service by the Nashville American Legion Post #110. Memorial contributions may be made to the “Victoria Equipment Fund” of the Washington County EMA or to Spenner’s Spay and Neuter program.
