Lawrence Louis Musielak, 86 formerly of  Nashville, passed away at 9:05 a.m. on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy where he had made his home since 2007.  He was born on August 28, 1928 in East St. Louis, the son of Louis and Monica “Minnie” Piglowski Musielak.  He married Maxine Riedlinger in June of 1962 and she passed away in April of 1984.  Also preceding him in death were his parents and his eldest brother; Nicholas.

Left to mourn his passing are 2 sons; Joe and husband Aaron of Sedro Woolley, WA. And John and wife Debbie of Oblong.  Brother; Theodore and wife Betty  of Salem, SC. 2 step grandchildren; Zachary Mc Neil of Indianapolis, IN and Kelsie Mc Neil of Edwardsville.  His long time care giver and loving companion; Dorothy Roethlisberger of Okawville along with many close cousins, nieces, nephews and the residents and staff of Schapers A Unit at the Quincy VA who not only provided excellent care, but were a part of his family.

Mr. Musielak served in the United States Army Military Police in both Germany and Japan after WWII and during the Korean Conflict.  He was a member of the Nashville VFW and Knights of Columbus.

A memorial gathering will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 27th at the Styninger Funeral Home in Nashville.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy, the Blinded Veterans Association or the Foundation for Alcholism.
