Lauretta L. Weihe 103 of New Minden, passed away at 4:55 a.m. on Monday, December 15, 2014 at Washington County Hospital in Nashville.  She was born on September 19, 1911 in Hoyleton Township, the daughter of Edward and Lydia Ellerbusch Brinkmann.  She married August H. Weihe on August 28, 1937 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in New Minden and he passed away on August 27, 1988.  Also preceding her in death were her parents, brother; Henry Brinkmann, sister; Olga (Oscar) Haake, father and mother in law; Charles and Caroline Sachtleben Weihe, brother and sister in laws; Arthur and Lydia Maschhoff, Bill and Clara Kraus, Bertha Weihe, Julius and Marie Weihe, Arthur and Pearl Weihe , Albert and Frieda Witte, Gus and Anna Witte and Richard and Florence Brinkmann.

Left to mourn her passing is her son; Howard (Jane) Weihe of rural Hoyleton, 2 daughters; Vera Miller of Lakeville, MN and Rosemary (Duane) Miller of New Berlin, WI.  5 grandchildren; Eric (Jennifer) Miller of Savage, MN, Kurt (Kathy) Miller of Los Angeles, CA, Annette Miller of Antigo, WI, Caroline (Lucas) Bedroske of Shawano, WI and Stephanie (David) Biedenbender of Colgate, WI.  11 great grandchildren; Spencer, Emerson Rose and Weston Miller, Samantha Miller, Noah, A.J. and Paige Bedroske, Abraham, Eli, Gideon and Jael Biedenbender.  A sister in law;  Erna Brinkmann of New Minden and several nieces and nephews.

Lauretta was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in New Minden having served as an officer of the Ladies Aid and Lutheran Women’s Missionary League.  She was a previous election judge in New Minden.  Prior to her marriage, she was a domestic assistant for a family in St. Louis.  After her marriage, she farmed with her husband.  She was a loving mother, mother in law, grandmother and great grandmother.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 19th at St. John’s Lutheran Church in New Minden with Rev. Timothy Mueller officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Styninger Funeral Home in Nashville and one hour prior to services on Friday at the church.  Memorial contributions may be made to the St. John’s Lutheran Church Restoration Fund.
