Larry C. Brinkmann, 76 of Hoyleton, passed away at 7:57 a.m. on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at his daughter's residence with his family by his side. He was born on August 26, 1947 in Centralia, the son of Elmer and Lillian Witte Brinkmann. He married Peggy Wilbanks on April 19, 1969 in Phoenix, AZ. Left to mourn his passing are 2 sons; Rodney Brinkmann of Belleville and Ryan (Becky) Brinkmann of New Minden. A daughter Stephany (John) Kroeger of Hoyleton. 6 grandchildren; Sydney and fiance Wyatt Troyer, Chad, Samantha and Summer Brinkmann, Jack and Evan Kroeger. A brother Curtis (Diane) Brinkmann of Hoyleton and a sister Phyllis (Bob) Jack of Nashville. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson Zach Brinkmann.
Larry served in the United States Air Force achieving the rank of E3. He was a lifelong dairy and grain farmer and worked for 7 years with the Teamsters Union in Phoenix, AZ. He was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church in New Minden where he held various offices and served on the T-SJ school board. He was a member of the Washington County Farm Bureau, Beckmeyer American Legion Post #1227 and drove his antique military truck in several parades. Larry loved to hunt, watch NASCAR and spend time with his family and grandkids.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in New Minden with Rev. Timothy Mueller officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites accorded by the Beckmeyer American Legion Post #1227. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, April 8, 2024 and one hour prior to services both at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Braille Center or to Fanconia Anemia Research Fund. Styninger Funeral Home in Nashville.
