Kenneth Bernard Kleeman, 87 of rural Hoyleton, passed away at 4:11 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at his residence surrounded by his family.
Kenneth, the son of Albert and Isa (Sutter) Kleeman, was born January 6, 1939 in Puxico, Missouri. He grew up in Bonne Terre, Missouri where he graduated high school, but his passion was farming. He grew up helping his dad on the family farm in Hoyleton at an early age. When he graduated he moved here to farm full time until his retirement in January, 2024. There was nothing else he enjoyed more.
He grew up attending North Prairie Church and after its closing was faithful in taking care of the church and cemetery and was a board member for many years. On June 13, 1976 he married Constance Hope, creating a beautiful blended family. They have enjoyed 49 years together.
Kenneth is survived by his wife Constance (Hope) Kleeman and their 4 children: Doris (Rod) Proctor of Lake Dallas, TX, Michelle (Steve) Ronat of Pocahontas, IL, Roy (Jennifer) Kleeman of Fountaintown, IN, and Heather (Ed) Walker of Collinsiville, IL. His memory will also be cherished by his 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He loved them all and treasured the time taking them on tractor rides and teaching them about farm life. He is also survived by his sister's children: Carl (Margaret Anne) Detmer, Jr., Barbara Mills, Laura Detmer, and Gary (Karen) Detmer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Joan Detmer and brother-in-law Carl Detmer
A celebration of life will be held on May, 23, 2026 at the Red Room in the Hoyleton Community Center from 2-4. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Stephen Manley Evangelistic Assoc., P.O.
