Karen S. Wetzel, 52 of Nashville, departed this life at 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 28, 2021 at Friendship Manor Health Center in Nashville. She was born on August 16, 1968 in Pinckneyville, the daughter of Cecil “Tony” and Bernice E. Moeller Wetzel. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Linda Wetzel and great nephew Dallas Lunnemann. Left to mourn her passing is her brother Bob (Mary) Wetzel and sister Sandi Lunnemann both of Nashville. Nieces and nephews; Sheri Hopkins, Brandan (Michelle) Lunnemann, Tony (Tiffany) Wetzel, Amy (Joe) Pinski and Amanda Lunnemann. Great nephews and niece; Brendan and Tyrik Hopkins, Ethan and Bennett Pinski, Ryder and Crue Lunnemann, Anthony and Kate Wetzel. Great great nephews and niece; Malachi, Carter and Skylar Hopkins.

Karen was a graduate of Nashville Community High School and was a coder and biller at Select Rehabilitation in Fairview Heights. She was a lifelong member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ in Nashville and loved animals.

Cremation will be performed and there will be no public services. Memorial contributions may be made to ASPCA and will be received at Styninger Funeral Home in Nashville which is in charge of arrangements.
