Mrs. Judith Lynn Brown of Nashville, IL departed this life at Friendship Manor Nursing Home on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at 8:50 A.M. Judith had attained the age of 85 years and 9 months.
Judy was born in Shelbyville, IL on August 9th, 1939 the daughter of James Paul and Velma Bernice (nee Anglin) Allen. She was united in marriage to Ronnie Brown in the Grand Tower Methodist Church in Grand Tower IL on August 16th, 1959 and he survives her passing.
Judith was a faithful member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Nashville for over 62 yrs.
Judy’s primary occupation was Income Tax Preparation. She opened her first H&R Block office in the garage of her home in 1971. In 1985 Judy sold her H&R Block office and became an independent tax preparer until she sold her business in 2015. Beyond tax preparation Judy was a talented seamstress who could design and create prom and wedding dresses but she most enjoyed sewing pajamas and Halloween costumes for her children and grandchildren.
Judy was a passionate and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother prioritizing family time and significant family events. She loved to travel extensively with her husband and family. Judy enjoyed reading, puzzles, cooking and especially family game time. Most importantly Judy is known for her unwavering love for her husband Ron, her family and Jesus.
Left to mourn her passing is her husband of 65 years, Ronnie Brown; four children, Tobin Brown (deceased) and wife Holly of Okawville IL, Amy Hackstadt and husband Gene (deceased) of Nashville IL, Paul Brown and wife Michele of Shiloh IL, Matthew Brown and wife Michelle of Longmont CO. In addition to her children, Judith is survived by 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, six sisters, her son Tobin Brown and son-in-law Gene Hackstadt.
Friends may call at Grace United Methodist Church, Nashville IL on Wednesday, May 28th from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. Funeral services will be held at Grace United Methodist Church, Nashville IL at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, May 29th with Pastor LeAnn Noland officiating. Following the service a luncheon will be provided in the church basement. Cremation will be performed and internment of ashes will be at a later date at Greenwood Cemetery in Nashville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Nashville Public Library and Eagle House Ministries in Buncombe, IL and will be accepted by the Styninger Funeral Home in Nashville who s in charge of arrangements.
