John Henry Smith

John Henry Smith, 62 of Nashville, passed away at 12:58 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2020.  He was born on October 11, 1957 in Mt. Vernon, the son of Tony C. and Mamie B. Patty Smith.  He married Rita Myers on October 22, 2016 in Nashville and she survives.  Also left to mourn his passing are 2 brothers; Tony and Clarence Smith both of Nashville.  A sister Nora Whipple of Nashville.  Step daughter Malinda Herrington, step granddaughter Faye Follis and his good friend Wesley Hampton of Nashville.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

John was a graduate of Nashville Community High School and was retired from the City of Nashville street department.  He was a member of the Nashville Assembly of God church.

Cremation was accorded and a memorial service will be held at a later date at the Nashville Assembly of God church with Rev. Matthew Craft officiating. Memorial contributions are suggested. Styninger Funeral Home in Nashville is in charge of arrangements.
