Janice Lee Niermann, 87 of Hoyleton, passed away at 2:23 a.m. on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at High Point Senior Living Center in Centralia. She was born on September 3, 1938 in Centralia the daughter of Henry and Martha Schrieber Boeker. She married Robert L. Niermann on June 7, 1958 in Ferrin and he passed away on March 27, 2012. Also preceding her in death were her parents, a brother Earl Boeker and a sister Opal Jones. Left to mourn her passing is her son Rodney (Brenda) Niermann of Hoyleton. 3 daughters; Deborah( David) Crowder of Osceola, IN. Crystal Labrecque of The Woodlands, TX and Saundra (Brian) Banning of Salem. A brother Donald Boeker of Ferrin, 2 sisters; Edna Jankowski of Nashville and Nancy (Maurice) Netemeyer of Aviston. 14 grandchildren; Robert, James, Michelle and Dane Crowder, Hannah Felts, April and Krysten Labrecque, Amanda Coleman, Allen and Audrey Niermann, Jared, Andrew, Trevor and Kaitlyn Banning. Also 24 great grandchildren.
Janice graduated from Carlyle High School and after graduation she worked at Concordia University in Chicago for a year. Her and Bob operated Niermann Holsteins Dairy Farm for years until Bob’s passing. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoyleton where she was active in LWML and the Ladies Aid. Janice loved to volunteer and that was obvious in her affiliation with the Hoyleton Community Club, Washington County Home Extension and former Hoyleton Lions Club. Her hobbies included ceramics, baking and sewing.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 29, 2025 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoyleton with Rev. Nathan Wollenberg officiating. Burial will follow in the Zion UCC Cemetery in Hoyleton. Friends may call from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday at the church and again an hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or Hoyleton Fire Department. Styninger Funeral & Cremation Chapel in Hoyleton is in charge of arrangements.
