Jane Ellen Brown, 70 of rural Centralia, passed away at 1:52 p.m. on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at her residence after a lengthy illness with her family at her side. She was born on February 21, 1955 in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Gustav James and Elizabeth “Betty” Armstrong Klemme. She married Jerry M. Brown in 1997 in Fairview Heights and he survives. Also surviving is her son Timothy (Rachel) Klemme of Texas, a daughter Cassandra Salmons of Centralia. 3 step sons; Aaron Wernle of Belleville, Michael Brown of Maryville and Eric Brown of Collinsville. 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Brother; Jack (Donna) Klemme of Dallas, TX, sister; Jill (Norbert) Normansel of Belleville. 2 brother in laws; Frank (Sandy) Brown of St. Louis, MO and Bruce (Mabel) Brown of Bulverde, TX and a sister in law Doris Johnson of Troy. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a step son Kevin M. Brown.
Jane enjoyed watching squirrels at her country home, collecting unicorns and black and white cows and especially enjoyed traveling to Billings, Mo and visiting with their dear friends the Kincheloe family.
Cremation will be performed and there will be no public services. Styninger Funeral & Cremation Chapel in Hoyleton is in charge of arrangements
