Irene A. (Boehning) Russell 84 of Avon, CT formerly of Belleville, passed away at 9:56 a.m.on Sunday, September 13, 2015 at John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington, CT.  She was born on July 6, 1931 in New Minden, the daughter of Henry and Anna Schuette Boehning.  She married Robert Russell on October 14, 1951 at St. John Lutheran Church in New Minden and he preceded her in death on August 21, 1986.  Also preceding her in death were her parents and a sister; Helen in infancy.  Left to mourn her passing is a son; Robert (Ingrid) Russell of Granby, CT a daughter; Cecilia Russell of Avon, CT and a grandson; Michael Russell of Hartford, CT.  2 brothers; Edward Boehning of Nashville and Richard (Agnes) Boehning of Centralia.  A nephew; Jonathan (Stephanie) Boehning.  3 nieces; Edith (Keith) Grote, Victoria (Don) Caves and Christina Ewald and fiance Jeff.  11 great nieces and nephews.

Irene retired as a sales associate with Dillard’s department store.  She was a member of Signal Hill Lutheran Church in Belleville and a devoted St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan.

Private graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 19th at St. John Lutheran Cemetery in New Minden with Rev. Timothy Mueller officiating.  Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Styninger Funeral Home in Nashville is in charge of arrangements
