Howard Morgan 79 of Nashville, passed away at 5:09 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at his home. He was born on January 15, 1935 in Du Quoin, the son of Howard Ola and Goldie Marie Gossett Morgan. He first married Florene Mohon and they later divorced, he then married Eileen Dewarr and she passed away on February 27, 2003. He then married Judy Suedmeyer on October 5, 2003 at Zion Lutheran Church in Hillsoboro, MO. And she survives in Nashville. Also left to mourn his passing is 4 sons; Dan (Dawn) Morgan of St. Peters, MO., Jeff (Terry) Morgan of Dittmer, MO., Randy (Becky) Morgan of Herndon, ,VA. And Lionel (Carla) Morgan of Chesterfield, MO. 2 daugters; Carrie Higgins of Ballwin, MO. And Lorie (Don) Vogel of Affton, MO. 4 step children; Dawn (Dave) Ezell of Troy, Lyle (Cheryl) Suedmeyer of Gilbert, AZ., Jay (Amanda) Suedmeyer of Nashville and Torri (Alicia) Suedmeyer of Mascoutah. 8 grandchildren, 9 step grandchildren, 1 step great grandchild and 1 step great great grandchild. A brother; Norman Eugene (Evelyn) Morgan of Festus, MO. A God child; Brandon Pate and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Morgan was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers; Ola Leon “Bud” and Jack Morgan and a sister; Alene Kopp Jackson.
Howard was an underground utilities contractor and was the owner/operator of Morgan Construction in St. Louis and Illinois. He and his wife Judy owned and operated Keepsakes and Treasures watch and clock repair. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran church in Nashville, the Gideon’s, was a past board member of Christ Our Rock Lutheran High School and a member of the National Association of Watch and Clock Repair. He enjoyed repairing clocks and working with excavating equipment making lakes and taking down trees on he and Judy’s farm.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 28th at Trinity Lutheran Church in Nashville with Rev. Russell Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Friday at the CHURCH. Memorial contributions may be made to his church, Christ Our Rock Lutheran High School, the Gideon’s or American Heart Assoc. Styninger Funeral Home in Nashville is in charge of arrangements.
