Gilbert John  Boester 91 of Hoyleton, passed away at 9:02 a.m. on Friday, November 28, 2014 at his residence.  He was born on January 5, 1923 in Hoyleton Township the son of Henry and Blondina Bartling Boester.  He married Dorathy Anna Ellerbock on June 22, 1950 in Ursa, Illinois and she passed away on May 26, 2012.  Also preceding him in death were his parents, a son; Nolan Boester, 2 brothers; Henry and Ewart Boester and a sister; Rufina Schuette.  Left to mourn his passing are 2 sons; Dean (Patty) Boester and Kelvin (Teresa) Boester both of Hoyleton.  2 daughters; Joyce Boester of Zion, IL and Grace (Hank) Ezel of Hoyleton.  7 grandchildren; Christopher (Christina) Harper, Laura (Steven) Herod, Jaclyn Harper, Melissa (Glen) Winterman, William Dean “Bill” (Mechel) Boester, Kelly (Danny) Droste and Nichole Boester.  And 9 great grandchildren

Mr. Boester farmed in the Hoyleton area his entire life.  He was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church in New Minden and Washington County Farm Bureau.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 2^nd at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoyleton with Rev. Timothy Mueller officiating.  Burial will follow in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery in New Minden.  Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday at the church.  Memorial contributions may be made to the St. John Lutheran Church. Styninger Funeral Homes of Nashville and Hoyleton are in charge of arrangements
