George R. Keen, 87 of Coulterville, formerly of Nashville, passed away at 6:45 p.m. on Monday, April 29, 2024 at HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in O’Fallon. He was born on May 15, 1936 in Cadet, MO the son of Les and Lucy Wilkerson Keen. He married Florentine Marie Nowack on June 30, 1956 in Belleville and she passed away on November 10, 2017. Also preceding him in death were his parents, 2 daughters; Sue Gale and Cindy Kennedy and 2 brothers; Charlie and John Keen. Left to mourn his passing is a son Terry Keen of Coulterville, 2 daughters; Vicky (Steve) Roman of Freeburg and Peggy Keen of Coulterville. A sister Helen Carroll of Dardeen Prairie, MO, 7 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
George served in the United States Marine Corp and worked as a diesel mechanic in St. Louis until his retirement. He was a member of the Nashville Assembly of God Church and enjoyed spending time at his property near Hickory Lake.
