Freddie Lee McKnight, 60 of New Minden passed away at 12:07 p.m. on Monday, August 18, 2014 at his residence.  He was born on July 20, 1954 in St. Louis, MO.  He married Janet Thomas on September 17, 1971 in St. Louis and she survives in New Minden.  Also left to mourn his passing is his parents; Joseph “OJ” and Allie Mae McKnight of East Carondolet.  A son; Josh (Kerry) McKnight of New Minden.  3 daughters; Lisa Illert of Hoyleton, Dawn Gray of New Minden and Shawn (Eugene) Seahorn of Russelville, AL.  2 brothers; Tim McKnight of DuBois and Jim McKnight of Millstadt.  2 sisters; Stephanie Owens of Paducah, KY and Carla Smith of Tennessee.  10 grandchildren; Ryan Schmid, Brittany and Ashley Seahorn, Brett Illert, Gaige and Shelbi McKnight and Erica, Blake, Serenity and Bryson Gray.  He was preceded in death by a grandson; Cody Northington and a brother; Joseph Demma and  a son in law; Tony Gray.

Mr. McKnight served in the United States Army as a paratrooper.  He was a member of ABATE and the Wild Horses motorcycle clubs.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 21st at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis with his mother Allie Mae McKnight officiating.  Military rites will be accorded by the Army Honor Guard.  Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Styninger Funeral Home in Nashville.
