Floyd "Toby" Scott

Floyd T. “Toby” Scott, Jr., 49 of New Minden, passed away at 1:07 p.m. on Monday, May 20, 2019 at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis.  He was born on March 22, 1970 in Carbondale, the son of Floyd T. and Carolyn Cottingham Scott, Sr.  He married Sandra Rochelle Sills on October 4, 1996 in Chester and she survives.  Also surviving 4 sons; William “JR” (Ashley) Goza of Nashville, Mark Goza of Hoffman, Joshua (LeAnna) Goza of Centralia and David Gilliam of St. Louis.  2 daughters; Taucha Scott of Kentucky and Shanna (Dale) Anderson of New Minden.  8 grandchildren; Dale Anderson, Jr., Wyatt, Hannah, Abby, Eathan and Aubrey Goza, Issabelle Scott and Tylan Goza.  A sister; Pat Henderson of Murphysboro and aunts Linda, Marsha and Debbie of Mt. Vernon.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother; Rick Henderson and a sister; Tearesa Scott Wagner.

“Toby”  attended Marissa Jr. and Sr. High Schools and was a graduate of Du Quoin High School.  He loved to hunt, fish and be with his wife and kids.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Marissa Cemetery in Marissa with Danny Harriman officiating. There will be no visitation.    Memorial contributions may be made to the donors choice. Styninger Funeral Homesof Nashville and Hoyleton is in charge of arrangements
