Florence E. Osterwisch, 94 of Nashville, passed away at 8:53 a.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at Washington County Hospital in Nashville. She was born on August 1, 1929 in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of Harry and Alma Blumhorst Heberer. She married Norman F. Osterwisch on August 16, 1947 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in New Memphis and he passed away on April 28, 2006. Also preceding her in death were her parents and a brother Robert Heberer. Left to mourn her passing is a son Dennis (Diana) Osterwisch of Highland. A daughter Janis (Wayne) Borrenpohl of Venedy. 4 grandchildren; Amy (Andy) Kreher of Troy, Laura (Gabe) Myers of Normal, Megan (Jonathon) Schwartz of Venedy and Benjamin (Nicole) Borrenpohl of Jamestown, MO. 8 great grandchildren; Sophie and Ryan Kreher, Caleb and Owen Myers, Blair and Drew Schwartz, Afton and TJ Borrenpohl. Cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Florence was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Nashville where she was active in LWML. She was a charter member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League at St. Peter’s Church in New Memphis. She was a founding member of the Parent Teachers Association at the Okawville Grade School. She worked in the office of Rice-Stix Dry Goods in St. Louis and was a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Nashville with Rev. David Benning officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Family Hospice. Styninger Funeral Home in Nashville is in charge of arrangements.
