Flora M. Barkau, 90 of Nashville, passed away at 4:55 a.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Friendship Manor Health Center in Nashville. She was born on December 3, 1934 in Plum Hill the daughter of Walter and Lorraine McClain Barkau. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers; Hershel, Marvin and Walter “Butch” Barkau, a sister Hazel Mathews and a brother-in-law Ronald Perkey.
Left to mourn her passing is her sister Karen Perkey of McHenry, Illinois, brother-in-law Joe (Judy) Mathews of Freeburg and sister-in-law Florence Klasing of Carbondale along with several nieces and nephews.
Flora worked in the dietary department at Friendship Manor Nursing Home in Nashville for 32 years. She attended the St. Paul United Church of Christ and enjoyed watching television, especially Cardinal baseball and listening to music.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at Styninger Funeral Home in Nashville with Rev. Beverly Kahle officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Paul UCC Cemetery in Nashville. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheiemers Association
