Elsie Mae Reinhardt 90 of Breese, formerly of Covington, passed away at 7:20 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at the Breese Nursing Home. She was born on July 22, 1923 in West Frankfort, the daughter of Merl Ralph and Tillie Hartweck Sheaffer. She married Arvie Reinhardt on January 31, 1964 in the Bethel Lutheran Church in Clayton, MO. And he survives in Breese. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother; Army Lt. Ralph John Sheaffer who was killed in action in World War II.
Elsie was a graduate of West Frankfort H.S. She attended Murray State University and Southern Illinois University Carbondale where she was a member of Delta Sigma Epsilon Sorority. She worked 18 months for the Army Signal Corps as a Decoder at Arlington, VA. She then went to work as an accountant for Mallinckrodt Chemical Company in St. Louis. She later transferred to their Uranium Division in Weldon Springs, MO. Elsie was a long time member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Nashville.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 11th at the Styninger Funeral Home in Nashville with Rev. Russell Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity-St. John Lutheran School or a charity of the donors choice.
