I met Elsie several years ago when researching my grandmother Prieses family who immigrated from Minden, Germany to Washington County. Pastor Mueller from St John's Lutheran Church in New Minden informed us that Elsie had previously translated the church's German records to English.. When I explained my situation to Elsie, she graciously invited my sister and I to study the records. We visited several times and learned a lot.

Our great grandfather Pries was one of the founders of the Lutheran church in Covington. When visiting Minden Germany last May I learned a lot because of Elsie's help.
In sympathy, Verna Piper, Salem.
