Elizabeth Joyce Sprehe, 83 of Nashville, passed away at 10:20 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at Friendship Manor Health Center in Nashville. She was born on December 23, 1938 in Raleigh, Illinois, the daughter of Paul and Essie Hale Minner. She married Wayne Sprehe on March 8, 1959 in Centralia and they later divorced and he preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her parents, a brother Sam Minner, 2 sisters; Frances Ferrill and Carolyn Whitlock. Left to mourn her passing are 3 daughters; Jana (Jay) Tull of Nashville, Jill Sprehe of St. Louis, MO and Amy (Rob) Faerber of St. Louis, MO. 4 grandchildren; Ethan (Sydney) Engele, Elliott (Jessica) Engele, Elizabeth Engele and Elle Faerber. 3 step grandchildren; Sadie, Stewart and Dil Tull. A step great granddaughter Amelia Tull and 2 great granddaughters on the way. 2 sisters; Virginia Whitlock of Cape Girardeau, MO and Mary Geiger of Sandoval.
Mrs. Sprehe was a retired telephone operator and loved to write poetry, having had 3 books published. She attended the First Baptist Church in Nashville. She loved to sing in the choir, travel with her sister, walking and cooking for her family.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 21, 2022 at Nashville First Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Sharp officiating. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until service time on Monday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Nashville First Baptist Church or Alzheimer’s Research. Styninger Funeral Home in Nashville is in charge of arrangements.
