Dorothy G. Agnew 81 of Nashville, passed away at 7:30 a.m. on Friday, May 29, 2015 at Friendship Manor Health Center in Nashville.  She was born on March 13, 1934 in Washington County, the daughter of Henry and Veva Biggs Hogshead.  She married Doyle Agnew on June 16, 1951 and he passed away on January 5, 1989.  Also preceding her in death were her parents, a brother in infancy and 4 sisters; Edna and Henrietta Jones, Nina Joseph and Anna Baugh.  Left to mourn her passing are 3 sons; Jerry (Cecilia) Agnew of New Minden, John (Susan) Agnew of Pinckneyville and Jim (friend Susan Hall) Agnew of Ronda, NC.  3 daughters; Janet Hackstadt of Harrison, AR, Jean Agnew of New Minden and Joyce (Jerry) Davis of Herrin.  A sister; Phyllis Pillow of Nashville.  14 grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and several step great grandchildren.

Mrs. Agnew was a CNA for Friendship Manor Nursing Home in Nashville for 34 years and prior to that was a sales clerk at Famous Barr in St. Louis.  She enjoyed quilting, crafting and especially playing bingo.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 1, 2015 at the Styninger Funeral Home in Nashville with Rev. Ron Davis officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Nashville.  Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Monday at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to Washington County Meals on Wheels.
