Donald Marks, 75 of Mt. Vernon, passed away at 8:15 p.m. on Monday, October 14, 2013 at White Oaks Rehabilitation Center in Mt. Vernon.  He was born on November 17, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois the son of Valentine and Florence Kozmeski Marks.  There are no family members surviving.

Mr. Marks served in the United States Navy and then retired from the Unites States Army as a Sergeant First Class.  He was the former owner of a railroad company in Bicknell, Indiana.  Donald was a member of the Jesus Christ Church of Latter Day Saints and MENSA.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation was accorded.  Inurnment will be held at a later date in Jeffferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.  Styninger Funeral and Cremation Chapel in Hoyleton is in charge of arrangements.
