Diana Lynne (Burkhart) Emrick

Diana Lynne Emrick, 77 of Richview, passed away at 4:14 a.m. on Friday, May 10, 2024 at her residence with her children at her side.  She was born on May 6, 1947 in Bloomington, the daughter of Harry Dale and Vivian Wirrick Burkhart.  She married Leslie Emrick on October 9, 1966 in Covell, and he passed away on May 7, 2008.  Also preceding her in death were her parents, 2 brothers; Jerry and Harry Burkhart a sister Dorothy Starky and her special friend Curt Kuhlengel.  Left to mourn her passing is her son Matthew (Tiffany) Emrick of Richview, daughter Michelle Smith of Centralia, brother Frank Burkhart of Arrowsmith, sister Joyce Ackerson of Armington.  7 grandchildren; Trevor, Hayli, Brook, Jared, Brandon, Amber and Colton.  Several great grandchildren and her beloved dog Hero (Dumas). 

Diana was a member of the Covell United Methodist Church.  She drove a school bus in Hoyleton and worked for many years at the Hoyleton Feed Store until it sold.  She loved to play golf, watch hummingbirds and was an animal lover. 

Cremation will be performed and there will be no public services. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, St. Jude’s Hospital for Children or Shriner’s Children’s Hospital.  Styninger Funeral & Cremation Chapel in Hoyleton is in charge of arrangements
