Daniel Theodore Hartman, 76 of Hoyleton, passed away at 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at his home with his wife and cats Stormey and Smokey at his side. He was born on October 30, 1949 in Peoria, the son of Alphia Theodore and Margret Fussner Hartman. He married Diane Reauley (Osborne) on October 13, 1984. Along with his wife of 41 years, left to mourn his passing are his stepsons; Ken Reauley and Harold (Catherine Sophia) Reauley. 2 sisters; Sarah Schaub and Ruth (Harold) Hightbody and a niece Devon Schaub.
Daniel was an veteran of the United States Army having served in Vietnam. He worked for Caterpillar in Peoria for many years before going into retail management. He and Diane moved 37 times in their 41 year marriage. He loved National Parks, scenic drives and was able to visit almost every civil war battleground.
His body was gifted to science and there will be no public services. Styninger Funeral & Cremation Chapel in Hoyleton is in charge of arrangements.
