Dale Dean Dyson 75 of Addieville, passed away at 2:53 p.m. on Friday, October 30, 2015 at his Nashville residence.  He was born on August 15, 1940 in White Heath, IL the son of Henry “Hank” and Helen Perkins Dyson.  He married Joyce C. Wilson Smith on November 5, 1965 in Nashville and she survives.  Also left to mourn his passing is a son; Mike Dyson and wife Becky of Pensacola, FL.  A daughter; Carrie Henson Voss and husband Terry of Nashville.  2 brothers; Donnie Dyson and wife Joyce of Maroa and Larry Dyson and wife Linda of Monticello.  A sister; Linda Whisnut and husband David of Spartanburg, SC  Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and step grandchildren.  2 aunts; Rachael Jones of Decatur and Elsie Reed of Urbana. The family wishes to thank grandson Josiah Henson of Nashville for taking such good care of Dale for years.

Mr. Dyson was a 1958 graduate of Monticello High School where he was active in basketball, 4-H, FFA and FBLA.  He was an Army veteran having served in Korea during the Korean war.  Dale worked as an accountant in the same office for the Department of Defense at Scott Air Force Base for 49 years and 10 months.  He also worked at Speedi Check in Mascoutah for 17 years from the 1960’s to 1980.  He also served as a 4-H leader in Addieville during these years.  He and Joyce owned and operated JC Skating Rink in Nashville from 2002 until 2011.

Dale enjoyed listening to and singing country music, hunting, gardening raising chickens and ducks and returning to his hometown of Monticello for family and high school class reunions.     

Per Dale’s request, there will not be any public services.  Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are being handled by Styninger Funeral Home in Nashville
