Claude Earl Bateman 56 of Nashville, passed away at 11:15 a.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at his residence.  He was born on January 6, 1957 in East St. Louis, the son of Earl and Betty L. Garrett Bateman.  He was preceded in death by his parents.  Left to mourn his passing is a son Zack Bateman of Fort Polk, LA.  3 grandchildren; Adelen, Lillianna and Monroe.  3 sisters; Sue (Dr. Gary) Goforth of Nashville, Ruth (Mark) McDaniel of Pinckneyville and Alice (Sonny) Kelley of McAllister, OK.  3 nephews; Eric Bochantin, Jessie Boatner and Chris Goforth.  3 nieces; Michelle Boatner and Heather and Graci McDaniel as well as great nieces and great nephews.

Claude was a graduate of Nashville Community High School and was a self employed carpenter.  He enjoyed spending time with his friends.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Greenwood Cemetery in Nashville.  There will be no visitation, cremation rites have been accorded.   Memorial contributions may be made to Angels for Autism or St. Jude Children's Hospital.  Funeral Home in Nashville is in charge of arrangements.
