Charles C. Oliver 85 of Belleville, passed away at 5:40 a.m. on Wednesday, April 09, 2014 at Washington County Hospital in Nashville.  He was born on October 20, 1928 in East St. Louis, IL the son of David Loren and Amelia Louise Fresen Oliver.  He married Addie L. Archie on October 28, 1950 and she passed away on June 2, 1995.  Also preceding him in death were his parents, a granddaughter; Sarah Oliver, a brother David L. Oliver, Jr. and a son in law; Edgar Krupp.

Left to mourn his passing is a son; David A. (Kathleen) Oliver of Oakville, MO, a daughter; Patricia L. (Michael) Bundy of Nashville.  6 grandchildren; Rachel (Ben) Umbreit of Savannah, GA, Nicholas Oliver of St. Louis, MO, Amy and Andrew Oliver of Oakville, MO, Kerry (Joshua) McKnight of New Minden and Kyle Krupp and friend Jessi Roberts of Nashville.  4 great grandchildren; Gaige and Shelby McKnight, Emeri and Lilly Krupp.

Mr. Oliver was an Army veteran of the Korean war where he served as a Medical Technician at Atomic Testing Sight at the Nevada Proving Grounds.  He worked for Union Electric Company retiring in 1983.  He was the Business Manager for  the Local 148 Operating Engineers and had been honored with a lifetime membership.  He was also the founding editor of the Local 148 Gauge newspaper.  He was also a lifetime member of the National Association of Atomic Veterans.  He enjoyed spending time with family, especially at holiday time.  He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 14th at Kassly Colonial Mortuary in Fairview Heights with Rev.Timothy Mueller officiating.  Burial will follow in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Nashville.  Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday at Kassly Mortuary.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Southern Illinois or Washington County Hospital.  Styninger-Krupp Funeral Home in Nashville is in charge of arrangements.
