Carolyn L Spenner

Carolyn Lillian Spenner, 81 of Hoyleton, passed away at 7:40 p.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese.  She was born on May 29, 1938 in New Minden the daughter of Lillian Vulbrock.  She was babtized on July 1, 1938 and confirmed on April 6, 1952 both at St. John’s Lutheran church in New Minden.  She married Vernon Spenner on June 3, 1956 in New Minden and he passed away on March 4, 1998.  Also preceding her in death was her mother and a grandson SPC Brian C. Spenner.  Left to mourn her passing are 4 sons; Alan (Eileen) Spenner of Hoyleton, Wayde (Jamie) Spenner of Wamac, Craig (Brenda) Spenner of New Minden and Keith (Jennifer) Spenner of Delavan, WI.  13 grandchildren; Shannon Lowry Spenner (Bobby Butler), Cyndi (Tim) Renth, Jared (Ashleigh) Spenner, Jennifer (Kyle) Manske, Scott (Carol Lynn) Spenner, Erin (Josh) James, Stacey (Bruce) Guinzy, Jessica Spenner, Danielle (Taylor) Knuth, Mitchell, Aric, Conner and Terra Vogelman.  19 great grandchildren; Abby and Evy Lowry; Lillian Taft; Raelyn, Ellesyn and Ryder Renth,; Aiden and Alex Spenner; Bennett and Callum Manske; Emma, Aurora and Ethan Spenner; Emmalynn Miller; Chloe and Nathan James, Jordyn and Haedyn Guinzy and Matthew Knuth.  A great great grandchild; Emmilyne Moon.  And an adopted child Jason Loggins.

 Carolyn was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoyleton.  She was a homemaker, day care provider and foster parent.  She enjoyed music, playing the piano, gardening, embroidery, crocheting, antique shopping and spending time with her dog Nadia.

 Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 4, 2019 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoyleton with Rev. Nathan Wollenberg officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and 8:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Friday both at the church.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
