Alice Marie Thole, 76 of Nashville, passed away at 3:55 p.m. on Monday, April 23, 2018 at Washington County Hospital in Nashville. She was born on January 17, 1942 in Clay, KY, the daughter of James Curtis and Anna Laura Beauchamp Shelton. She first married Reuben Hazel and they later divorced. She then married Anthony “Butch” Thole on July 30, 2005 and he passed away in 2008. Also preceding her in death were her parents and a brother in law; Bill Whitledge. Left to mourn her passing is a son; Scott Hazel of Nashville and a daughter; Tosha (Brian) Jasper of Okawville. 2 grandchildren; Kyle Jasper of Okawville and his girlfriend Kiley Pelker and Caitlin Jasper of Okawville and her fiance’ Will Jelks. A brother; Jim (Garnetta) Shelton of Dixon, KY, a sister; Mildred Whitledge of Clay, KY and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Alice was a self employed beautician and served many years as the Lenzburg Village Clerk. She was of the Baptist faith and loved her grandchildren and the St. Louis Cardinals. She will long be remembered as the biggest cheerleader at her grandkids ball games where she was known as “Nana” to everyone. She will be dearly missed by her family.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Styninger Funeral Home in Nashville with Rev. Aaron Kotila officiating. There will be a memorial gathering of family and friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the funeral home on Saturday. Alice gifted her body to the Washington University School of Medicine. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
