Alfred W. Knolhoff

Alfred W. Knolhoff, 97 of Hoffman, passed away at 11:33 a.m. on Friday, August 30, 2013 at Carlyle Health Center.  He was born on February 15, 1916 in Hoffman the son of Henry and Emelie Hanke Knolhoff.  He married Connie M. Riechman on May 14, 1944 in Hoffman and she passed away on March 25, 2010.  Also preceding him in death were his parents, 2 brothers; Larvin and Earl Knolhoff, 2 sisters; Pauline Kleiboeker and Edna Twenhafel along with a son in law; Jerry Rixmann.

Left to mourn his passing is 3 daughters; Kathy (James) Kroeger and Karen Rixmann both of Hoyleton and Pat (Leonard) Kleiboeker of Shattuc.  A sister; Irene Faulstich of St. Louis.  8 grandchildren; Bob (Joni) Kroeger, John (Stephany) Kroeger, Jarrett (Amy) Rixmann, Craig (Tracy) Rixmann, Kelly (Greg) Burger, Keith Kleiboeker and friend Deb Dumstorff, Deanna (Dean) Litzenburg and Ann (Justin) Speiser.  13 great grandchildren; Mitchell, Madylin, Jack and Evan Kroeger, Zach, Aaron and Peyton Rixmann, Dale, Chase and Faye Burger, Allie and Dylan Litzenburg and Marli Kleiboeker.

Mr. Knolhoff farmed in the Hoffman area his entire life.  He was the oldest living member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoffman and was an avid lifelong Chicago Cub fan.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 2, 2013 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoffman with Rev. Stephen Krenz officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Monday at the church.  Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or Christ Our Rock Lutheran High School.  Styninger Funeral and Cremation Chapel in Hoyleton is in charge of arrangements.
