Wayne Kottmeyer Obituary

Wayne Arthur Kottmeyer, 75 of Oconomowoc, WI, passed away at 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at Lake Country Rehabilitation Center in Oconomowoc.  He was born on August 26, 1943 in Centralia, the son of Arthur F. and Elda C. Reinkensmeyer Kottmeyer.  He married Margaret Meinert on August 28, 1965  at the St. Paul United Church of Christ in Nashville and she survives in Oconomowoc.  Also left to mourn his passing are 2 sons; Edward and wife Vy Kottmeyer of Aurora and their daughter; Olivia and Nicholas and wife Brandie Kottmeyer of North Aurora and their children; Mason, Logan and Jackson.  A brother; Roger Kottmeyer of Shattuc.  2 sisters; Elaine Hassell and husband Douglas and Shirley Campbell and husband Dale both of Hoyleton.  He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother; David Kottmeyer.

Wayne was a graduate of Nashville High School and received his Masters Degree from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.  He first worked in Harrisburg and later moved to Watertown, WI where he was the administrator of Bethesda Lutheran Home and finally to Tinley Park where he was the Administrator of St. Coletta’s of Illinois nursing facility until his retirement.  He was a member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod.  Mr. Kottmeyer enjoying raising and showing dogs when he was younger and liked spending time outdoors.  

 A private funeral service will be held at Styninger Funeral Home in Nashville with Rev. Nathan Wollenberg officiating. Burial will follow in the Masonic Cemetery in Nashville.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Masonic Cemetery Association.
